In October 2015, following a transformative trip to Kaktovik, Alaska, children’s book author/illustrator, teacher, coach, father, and activist Erik Brooks embarked on a unique show of support for protecting the Coastal Plain of the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. In a letter to President Obama, Erik promised to make and send five polar bear postcards each week, through the end of the President's term. Erik describes his advocacy to protect the Refuge "... both as a serious outreach, and as hopefully something a little different to your every day.....If a polar bear post card five days a week keeps even a glimmer of hope alive - or provides an occasional pause for thought - then it will be well worth the effort."

This is just a sample. Please visit Erik's website to see the entire Presidential Polar Bear Postcard Project collection.
