The Idaho Conservation League (ICL) works to protect the air you breathe, the water you drink and the land you love.
We know that the values we hold are shared by many Idahoans, so we work diligently to be Idaho's leading voice for conservation. ICL's goal is to create an informed and engaged conservation majority in Idaho. By building a robust conservation community, we hope to influence local, state and federal policies to ensure adequate protections for clean water, clean air, healthy families and Idaho's unique way of life.
The Idaho Conservation League has worked for decades and in the summer of 2015 secured permanent protection for the Boulder-White Clouds in central Idaho, one of the largest roadless landscapes in the lower 48 states. The region encompasses the headwaters of four major river systems, has the highest-elevation salmon runs in North America, and is home to an array of wildlife including wolverines and bighorn sheep. It also offers a variety of world-class backcountry recreation opportunities, including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, hunting, and fishing. Because of these extraordinary ecological and recreational values, increased protection had been sought for the Boulder-White Clouds for over 40 years.
The Campion Foundation is proud to support ICL’s collaborative efforts with recreation and conservation groups, business owners, sportsman groups, elected officials, and more than 10,000 Idahoans who are celebrating the Boulder-White Clouds wilderness designation.
